Daniel Radcliffe
(Harry Potter)
The boy who won one of the most coveted roles in film history, young Daniel Radcliffe beat
out legions of aspiring bespectacled mini-wizards to fill the shoes of author J.K. Rowling's junior sorcerer Harry
Potter in the much-anticipated film adaptation of Rowling's wildly popular book Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's
Stone.
Radcliffe began to realize his love for acting at the age of five. Although his parents
voiced objections, youthful enthusiasm soon won out and Radcliffe was on his way to stardom. Convincing his mother to send
a picture to the BBC for consideration in an upcoming adaptation of David Copperfield, the precocious youth was quickly cast
in the role of the young Copperfield, shortly thereafter turning up alongside Pierce Brosnan in John Boorman's The Tailor of Panama. It was his next role in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, however, that would launch the young actor directly into the heart of the public eye. Based
on a series of popular fantasy books that followed the adventures of young Potter as he attends Hogwart's School of Witchcraft
and Wizardry, the film promised to faithfully capture the essence of the book in bringing the otherworldly exploits of the
magical youngster to the screen. A sequel, entitled Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, was announced even before the release of the initial installment, and it appears as if Radcliffe
has found himself caught in the whirlwind frenzy of a phenomenal franchise.

Tom Felton
(Draco Malfoy)
This talented, young actor set out to move the world with his voice as oppose to his theatrical
skills. A singer since the age of seven, Tom Felton decided to try his hand at acting after a family friend recognized this
British actor's natural gift. Following the friend's advice, Felton met with an agent and after two short weeks, landed his
first international commercial.
In 1998, Felton was cast in his first feature role as Peagreen Clock
in "The Borrowers" and in 1999, he portrayed Louis, the son of Jodie Foster's character
in the British action feature "Anna and the King". Felton's breakout role came two years later
as he was cast in the much anticipated feature "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" (2001),
which prompted a return in "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets" (2002).

Rupert Grint
(Ronald Weasley)
When it was announced that Warner Bros. would be filming the popular "Harry Potter"
series of books written by J.K. Rowling, Rupert Grint was determined to land the key role of the young wizard's best friend
Ron Weasley. The redheaded Grint only had appeared in local theatricals, but he auditioned along with hundreds of others.
When he did not hear anything after he had submitted himself for consideration, the determined youngster created his own show
reel and even wrote a rap song explaining how much he wanted the role and why he should be cast. His confidence clearly paid
off as he impressed the casting agents and landed the role in "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone"
(2001).
While he reprised the role in the sequels "Harry Potter
and the Chamber of Secrets" (2002) and "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban" (2004),
Grint also found himself in demand for other roles, including another stalwart pal part in "Thunderpants"
(2002), as the best buddy of a flatulent young man. He again revived his role as Ron Weasley for “Harry
Potter and the Goblet of Fire” (2005), the first to be directed by a fellow Brit (Mike Newell), and was set to
star in the fourth sequel, “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix” (set to be released
in 2007). Meanwhile, Grint continued to branch out, starring in “Driving Lessons” (2005),
a British coming-of-age comedy about a shy teenage boy who tries to escape his domineering mother by working for a retired
actress.

Emma Watson
(Hermione Granger)
Emma Watson made her big-screen debut in 2001's box-office smash Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001) ,bringing to life Hermione Granger, friend to the famous protagonist Harry Potter of
J.K. Rowling's children's novel. Watson acted only in school plays in Europe before breaking into Hollywood with this
film, but her performance skills had been honed through dancing, singing, and poetry recitals, the latter of which she had
already received recognition by the age of seven. Following her role in the first installment of the Harry Potter films, audiences
could expect Watson to return to the role of Hermione Granger in both Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (2002) and Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban(2004).
